I updated firefox and all my saved passwords were deleated.
I updated firefox and all my saved passwords were deleated. I have a "Old firefox data" file and read earlier that the logins.json and the key3.db files can be placed into my new firefox. Does anybody know how to do this?

Is there a new Firefox profile folder created?
Is that "Old Firefox Data" folder recently created because Firefox creates this folder when you reset Firefox?

Yes the old firefox data folder was just created when I updated firefox.
Were you able to copy the files from the "Old Firefox Data" folder to the current profile folder?
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.
These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox
FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.

Thanks for the heads up about the malware. I installed the malware remover tool and the malware is gone. I also followed the links about retrieving my old passwords and I followed the directions and everything came out fine. Thank you very much for the help. :)
