I have followed the instructions to install the Dutch dictionary, and everything goes right until I have to download the dictionary. I get a file that cannot be opened, let alone run. The file name is 'woordenboek_nederlands-3.1.1-sm+tb+fx+fn', and it is an xpi file. There are no programs to open this file.

Please help! I recently switched to Windows 8 and that is where all the problems started. In the previous version of Windows everything was working perfectly.

Thanks in advance for the help

Drag and drop the xpi file onto Thunderbird's Add-ons window.

Or click the small button to the left of the search window in the Add-ons window, select "Install from file" and browse to your xpi file.
