Hello guys,

I was asked by Firefox to complete a short survey, which I did. After the survey was completed I was redirected to a HD streaming website which is reelzhot.com

I think this is a fishy operation and then I googled it and it has a lot of bad reviews.

I'm trying to upload screenshots of what I see but your website is not uploading the images.

Please let me know your conclusions.

Thanks,

Herby

It does sound scammy. Did that appear out of a web page or as a new window or new tab?

Do you have any unrecognized or suspicious extensions on the Add-ons page? You can check using either:

  • Command+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable or remove.

You can attach screenshots to a reply to yourself here. Make sure to edit or blur out any sensitive information before saving the file and attaching it to your reply.

Thanks a lot for your reply guys!

@jscher2000: Any suspicious extensions on my Add-ons so far.

So basically, Firefox never ask people to fill in surveys, right? Or am I wrong?

Screenshots of the "scammy" webiste now attached.

Thanks guys!

Mozilla has some surveys. If I load this site in a private window (so it doesn't know I'm logged in), I sometimes get a message that I'm selected for a survey. The link leads to a site with surveygizmo in the address. No credit card information required.

A web search for the telephone numbers involved; as on the images; would tend to confirm the obvious that they are scammy. Some of those hits were themselves rather dubious
