Trying to access this URL -> http://www.jeep.com/bridge/?app=bmo&pageName=landing&pageType=vehiclePage&vehicle=wrangler&year=2015&zipcode=32327

I get this error message ->

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

Cookie

Happens with other URLs to the same website. I am able to successfully access those URLs when I try them with IE. Kind of aggravating to have to jump between browsers just to browse the web, so is this fixable in FireFox?

Try a web search for another link.

Bad requests are usually caused by corrupted cookies (Firefox sends stored cookies as part of the HTTP request headers), so if you get this error then clear the cookies from that website (domain).

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
