Hello,

I have a new question. Addons, themes and personas, how to bring them permanently in Firefox? Firefox does not have to connect to the site.

Note that I'm not talking about updates. Before Personas were definitely in Firefox, even if not connected to the Internet, you could change them.

Thank you.

Can you please provide more details? What add-ons? From where?

Sometimes, an add-on is not compatible with the updated browser, so it it placed in a "blocked" list. Or the owner no longer does support. Or ad/mal-ware is suspected. Or . . . . . . . . .

Firefox only stores the header and footer image files of the currently selected Persona in the profile folder. The image files of other installed Personas are loaded from the server when you select a different Persona via "Add-ons > Appearance". If the image files are missing or can't be retrieved then you only see the text and background colors as specified in the data of the Persona.

Hello, good evening or you are on the planet.

It's pretty simple. Whatever addons if you are not connected to the Internet, the icons are not displayed. Particularly when you reinstall your profile.

example : Dolus Saferouter YourIP

This is the icon of addons to Tools => Add-ons.

For Personnas, before the change in the appearance of Firefox, the very ugly theme nautilus, all Personnas were stored on the computer. I did not need to be online to change.

Forgive my English, but it is not my mother tongue. Thank you for reading.

Are you talking about the change between Firefox 28 and Firefox 29 which happened 15 months ago (and 10 versions in the past) ?

Hello, noble friend moderator,

Yes, I'm talking about this.

Thank you.

With Firefox 29 "Personas" became "lightweight themes" and changes were made to in-browser storage of the "theme" data, as cor-el mentioned. Also, many Persona extensions that saved multiple "lightweight themes" weren't updated by their developers; themes such as Persona rotators which displayed a different Persona each time Firefox was opened and did 'timed' change to the displayed Persona. Just hasn't been a feature in Firefox for quite awhile now. One "lightweight theme" is available to be displayed unless you are connected to the internet and have 'access' to the add-ons website for 'theme retrieval'.

Hello,

I can assure you, i understood.

But, what I want is that everything is stored permanently on my computer, Firefox is never connecting to servers Mozilla, it checks nothing, add-ons or the personnas.

I thank you.

Sorry, Firefox just doesn't work that way now-a-days.

You would have to backup the images files locally and do the switch manually in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed.

Firefox places Persona images as lightweighttheme-header and lightweighttheme-footer in the Firefox profile folder (xxxxxxxx.default). The images will be resized and copied to the lwtheme folder and you need to delete the files in this folder to make Firefox use a new Persona.

Check these prefs on the about:config page.

lightweightThemes.isThemeSelected = true
lightweightThemes.persisted.footerURL = true
lightweightThemes.persisted.headerURL = true

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
