I'm told my version of Firefox is outdated but About Firefox says I'm up to date version 39.0 + solutions for older versions don't work

I run Firefox version 39.0 but I'm told my version of Firefox is outdated even by the Mozilla site. About Firefox says I'm up to date version 39.0 + solutions for older versions don't seem to work. I've tried to download the full installer and run it, https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ (it was supposed detect my existing installation and update it). Then reopen Firefox and go to this site. Yet this site yet again advises me to update my version of Firefox... I'd appreciate your help. Keep up the good work, Thanks in advance,

Chosen solution

if you couldn't resolve it by resetting the custom general.useragent entries in about:config like described in the article above, then you could also refresh firefox which should take care of that issue as well...

hi, your useragent (the information the browser sends to websites to identify its version) - apparently mistakenly - shows you're on firefox version 6. maybe some sort of addon or toolbar/adware has overwritten it. please refer to this article in order to reset the user-agent settings in firefox: How to reset the default user agent on Firefox

Thanks for the quick response. I've got no added toolbars and have disabled all of my addons (extentions). Tried the solution offered regarding the user agent. Cleared my history, cash and cookies. sadly it does not seem to solve it. Is there anything else to be done? (besides ignoring it) Thanks again,
