Hi, I use Thunderbird 38.2.0 and Windows 7 to send emails and recently quite of few of my contacts are telling me they cannot open the pdf attachments I send. It seems like it is definitely with Thunderbird as I have tried sending the same attachment to the same contact via my webmail and the attachment can be opened without a problem.

If someone could suggest a fix for this I would really appreciate it.

Do you scan outgoing mail ?

Most people will have an anti-virus/firewall product and by default they tend to scan incoming and outgoig mail. It is possible that the scanning could be causing a problem.

Suggest you disable the scanning of outgoing emails and retest sending a pdf attachment.
