I download 3 files by a link. The files has extensions .tar.gz .tar.gz.1 .tar.gz.2. Firefox let me choise what to do with it. It is right, but for .tar.gz - no. This file is opening in browser. How i can set rule to have a choise like previous 2 variants?

P.S.: I may add rule in about:preferences#applications , but i can't add any rule manually.

Easiest would be to use the "Always ask me" setting for downloading files.

  • Options/Preferences > General > Downloads

You can rename the files if they have the wrong file extension.

tag.gz files are normally only used on Linux and not so much on the Windows platform unless you are downloading source code that needs to be compiled.

I always know where i want to save my files and i do't want to disable this option. Maybe tag.gz extension is extraordinary or system special? There must be a settings to overcome the problem in Firefox.
