Intermittent sounds of 1-3 seconds playing - How do I stop them?
For the past 3-4 weeks, I have been hearing miscellaneous sound clips lasting 1-3 seconds. I performed all the steps recommended at this site http://www.malwareremovalguides.info/audio-ads-playing-in-background-removal-guide/ which deals with audio ads. That did not work completely.
OS: Windows 10 Firefox: 55.0.3 (32 bit)
The sites I start with are Drudge Report, Washington Times, Real Clear Politics, Daily Caller News Max, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google.
Chosen solution
Would you give this a try :
Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (promise to be careful, if asked) Type and look for the preference : media.autoplay.enabled and set its value to false

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a good ad / pop-up blocker.
I forgot to mention in the initial question that I already use AdBlocker Plus.

This worked perfectly. Many thanks for the solution. It stops all the very annoying noises.
