How can I get Firefox 56 back as Quantum is terrible?
The new Quantum update is so terrible when using Windows 7. I get the impression it was designed for Windows 10 but I have to stick with Windows 7 for security reasons and bespoke software for work. Firefox 56 not only looks better but all my add-ons worked. It is so terrible I have uninstalled it and had to back to Google Chrome. I had moved to Firefox as I hated the that the avatar button could no longer be hidden but at least I can see all my tabs and the add-ons work.

Thank you very much. I did have to install it twice though as the first time it auto-updated. Second time round I remembered to disconnect from the net and set the updater to ask berfore instaling.

I immediately did a system restore to the previous restore point. But I lost the get pocket button.
The thing is, don't go to help and click on about firefox. It triggers an update.
I couldn't believe that Mozilla deleted or voided all the prior addons and that the attitude was "oh that's too bad, gee sorry."
And then I found out that not many people use it in the first place.
Wise up guys.
Hi PaulusNZ, for the past two and a half years, Firefox has had an integrated Pocket feature. If you never converted your Pocket data from the original extension (local list) to a cloud account, you may need to contact Pocket support for help on that.
Thank you for the information. All I know is that the pocket icon disappeared, and I now go to getpocket.com to access my account, add links and look up links. I don't know how to restore it, and it's not a big deal.
I deleted Quantum and re-installed an earlier version so I could use S3 Organizer ftp addon for mac. Problem solved for now -- OH - and unchecked Updates.
