I can no longer see any of my emails, but still have my Address book.

I cannot see any of my emails - in many folders (they are still there on the Skywebsite). I still have all the correct settings and my Address Book) I am getting an error when I open Thunderbird and cannot see any emails. The error is say "'the current operation on Inbox did not succeed. The mail server for account (my email address) responded (CLIENTBUG) Select command not valid in this state.'" Thanks for any offers of help!
