After updating to ver. 58.x, Firefox does not open any tabs/webpages. It just freezes. Upon opening it, 2 windows are shown as pointed out in this link.. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1181494 I'm also unable to open configuration/option pages.

System config.: Windows 7 64 bit.

I have tried following to resolve the issue.. 1. Opening Firefox in Safemode (+shift key) & opening Firefox with Add-ons disabled. 2. Resetting Firefox (From Help). 3. Uninstalling/Disabling all Add-ons. 4. Clean installing a fresh copy of Firefox (also removed all files from AppData/Local, AppData/Roaming & AppData/LocalLow) 5. Installing lower versions of Firefox (ver. 57)

I compared with other systems where Firefox 58 is running successfully. My Firefox have 2 processes running while other systems have 5-6 processes running. My Firefox shows 1 additional half-window with no content ~ seems to be stuck somewhere (in background) and unable to start new processes.

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
