When using Firefox on youtube, and then changing the settings like shifting from a 480 feed to HD, the mac will hard crash requiring a hard shutdown (using the power button until the computer turns off) This happened fairly consistently. I had turned off all hardware acceleration attempting to troubleshoot the problem to no avail. This seems to be the item that is causing the issue as reported in the panic logs - *** Panic Report *** panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff7f9d11ed7a): "bool IOAccelDisplayMachine2::display_mode_did_change(uint32_t): vendor driver returns false"@/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/IOAcceleratorFamily_kexts/IOAcceleratorFamily-378.18.1/Kext2/IOAccelDisplayMachine.cpp:490"

Since removing Firefox and using only Safari, no crashes have occurred under the same circumstances that would cause the crash when using Firefox.

Anybody have ANY clue what is going on?x

HI, sorry no since no information on the state of your Video Card Drivers came with your question nor information on what extensions you are using.

Since you uninstalled Firefox there are no crash reports to ask for.

From your error you are posting it is Video Card Driver related and possibly hardware acceleration.

If you want answers to the log, the place to go would be to a Mac forum.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

It doesn't solve it was just hoping this had come up before and hoping somebody had some input. Thanks for the reply.
