How can I move a folder, in bookmarks, out of another folder?

more options

I moved all my bookmarks from Internet Explorer to Firefox. Some of the folders ended up inside other folders & I can't figure out how to move them out. These are not individual bookmarks... they are entire folders.....

Chosen solution

Hi, Just click on a folder then drag it out to a higher level in the bookmarks.

You may or may not want to turn on the Menu Bar for this. Go to Customize to the bottom of window to Toolbars and turn on Menu bar. If Like the Bookmarks Toolbar then turn it on also.

From there you can do it from Bookmark Menu or Show all Bookmarks and do it that way.

Is just drag and drop.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

It's probably best to use the Library window for this. Ctrl+Shift+b or "Show All Bookmarks".

One reason I say that is you can "Undo" changes in the Library window using either Ctrl+z or (on the Library window's menu bar) Organize > Undo.
