Trying to copy my profile to a new PC and copying the folder to OneDrive but I can't get anything to Paste where I think it belongs. jbacinti@gmail.com
This whole thing about going up three levels, etc. has me confused. First, can I upload the profile on the old PC to OneDrive and download it to the new PC? If not and I don't have any media that would hold all the files in the *.default folder.
Chosen solution
It is pretty simple really.
Go to the windows file manager and type %appdata% in the location bar at the top and press enter.
Or use the windows key+R and type %appdata% in the run run dialog and press enter.
This opens windows hidden application data folder. copy the Thunderbird folder shown there and obviously all the sub folders. now reverse the process on the new device.
Start Thunderbird.
Personally I would suggest copying your data to local media such as a USB drive. Waiting for gigabytes of data to the transferred to the internet and back again must be like watching grass grow in a drought.
