Suddenly Thunderbird is not accepting my password, which I know is correct. Going to Tools - Options - does not help as I can't get in as my password is not accepted. Nothing is listed under saved logins. If I have to change my password to get in, how do I do this? Thank you.

Thunderbird itself doesn't have any passwords. Your email provider's server is the one to accept or reject your password.

Try to login to your account via webmail to verify your credentials. Your email provider's web site would also be the place to change your account password.
