I used Firefox for a year on this PC and today it is not working at all.

First it says 'Performing TSL handshake...' and then gives me error 'Secure Connection Failed' on 99% of websites. Google, facebook, youtube etc. 4pda.ru is working for example. Also any other browser works properly. But I don't want to move to Chrome.

I tried to do all troubleshooting steps from google and firefox help. I cleared all the cache, reinstalled, tried clean installation.

Sometimes this error is temporary and pressing reload (either click the button or use Ctrl+r) once or twice enables Firefox to connect. Does yours do that, or is it persistent?

Was anything in this support article useful: Secure connection failed and Firefox did not connect?

Otherwise, does the error page provide any other clues?

It's going to sound odd, but have you tried resetting the Internet Explorer options? It's something that I've found can cause issues with Firefox for some reason.

Try the following:

  1. Open the Windows 10 settings
  2. Search for Internet Options
  3. Select the Advanced tab
  4. Select Restore advanced settings
  5. Select Apply
  6. Click the Reset... button
  7. Click Reset on the popup window
  8. Restart your computer

Hope this helps.

Thank you for responses, but none of them solved my problem. Switching to Chrome now
