firefox starts normally, loading yahoo, which is my start page. Then, over top of the page, a 'special only for today, only for you' offer appears. It says it is from Mozilla, and claims that, if I take a short survey, I get a free Iphone. There is no way to shut this off, or remove it from the page. I tried opening new windows, with known addresses- they atart to load, then the 'free phone' thing comes up over top of them. I tried Explorer and Chrome, and the same thing happens, just with the survey being attributed to microsoft. This is the second day this has happened. I was able to log into my email, and that worked ok, but nothing else is possible. Please help!

That is not from Mozilla.

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Thank you. I ran the malwarebytes and microsoft safety scanners so far, and, as you said, each pointed out different things. Today the problem has not appeared but I am sure it will come up again, so knowing how to handle it when it does is very helpful. Thanks again!
