https://myutility.brantford.ca/Home.aspx?mid=1589&ctl=VieweBill&BH=NDUzOTA0NQ%3d%3d-Sl4qvu5Ljk0%3d works to open a .ASPX file, but fails in FireFox. Why?

The URL opens an image of my utility bill. In FireFox, it fails with "There is no application set to open the document "Home.aspx". In Safari, this works. Am I missing an add-in? Is this a problem in FireFox? Any comments/suggestion/reply appreciated.

Darn, I was hoping to be able to test it myself. I guess I have to move to Brantford. ☺️

First, let's try refreshing Firefox. This will purge a lot of your Firefox files, while retaining most of your personal data. For instructions, check out the following article: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

If the problem still occurs, try contacting the website administrators at https://myutility.brantford.ca/ContactUs.aspx

Home.aspx

Not sure what the first answer was supposed to provide/do/solve. I know the file is 'home.aspx' but why won't FireFox open it or is there a plug-in to handle .ASPX files? This annoying since Safari appears to work fine. Thanks for anything further on this issue.

Hi astratford, Along the left side of the https://myutility.brantford.ca/ website, there is a list of links. Do you experience the same issue with any of those links?

Chris: Yes, I see the list of links. I have no issue with ANY of them linking to the other pages.

It seems as though a 'HOME.ASPX' file is being 'shipped' to Firefox (FF) and it doesn't know what to do with it - unlike SAFARI, which (after a couple of seconds), opens the bill image fine.

Thank you for your interest.

Is this a real image or a PDF file?

Chris: Please do NOT move to Brantford because of this issue - there are LOTS of better reasons to move to Brantford (Dairee Delite comes to mind). I followed your helpful and explicit instructions for refreshing Firefox and this appears to have resolved my issue. I am now able to view my bill when on the Utilities website. I had previously gone to the website administrators (I felt it was their issue based on a change) but after several go-arounds with them, we closed the issue when I reported I was able to view the bill image using SAFARI - that's when I turned to Mozilla/Firefox for more help.

Your suggestion has resolved my issue, so thank you very much.

Cor-el: What is 'real image'? It's a file called 'home.aspx' that is 'passed' to FireFox to open, which was causing the original error.

Per the above comments, refreshing Firefox seems to have resolved my specific issue so I consider this issue closed.
