I can't delete bookmarks
Hello. I had to reinstall Windows 10. I moved the entire folder Roaming\Mozilla on the same place after new instalation Firefox. I can add bookmark, but can't delete any bookmarks. When delete folder mozilla in clear browser work fine. I don't want to lose my saved browser data and passwords. Can I fix it somehow?
Thanks

The places.sqlite file contains your History and Bookmarks. And it looks like it is corrupted.
Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.
Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox. The browser should then create a new place.sqlite and recover your bookmarks from the backup files.
Note: Your history is not backed up and will be lost.

If you have sync, and there is a problem anywhere, Shut Down Sync Immediately On All Devices to prevent the problem from spreading. Once the problem is fixed, perform the same repair on all computers/profiles before using sync again.
[v57+] Places Maintenance is built into Firefox.
Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.
You will find Places Database near the bottom. Press the Verify Integrity button.
When done, copy and post the results here.

Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles {web link} I use an add-on that makes backups of my user profile, Just In Case. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.
Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.
If you do this each day, you will not lose much data. This should be done with Firefox Closed.
Note: In case you need to restore from these backups, you may need to overwrite old or corrupted files.

Thank you very much! It worked!
Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
I have to get back to the topic because the problem has returned Same error. I couldn't remove one bookmark. I deleted the file places.sqlite Unfortunately, when I returned to the browser, the problematic tab was not (disappeared) but when I logged back into my Firefox account all the bookmarks are back (including the old ones I deleted weeks ago) along with the one I can't remove. How can I delete saved cloud bookmarks from my profile from the cloud ?
Additionally, it makes a copy of the entire profile because additionally I can't back up bookmarks to a file - the file just doesn't create

Best is to restore an older JSON backup if there is one that doesn't have these bookmarks and not using Sync to get your bookmarks.
- Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup -> Restore
You can reset the password of the Sync account to remove all data stored in his account.
It might be best to delete the sync account for now. Once everything is fixed, create a new one.
I don't have a backup, but can't make a backup as well
Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup
There are two options: backup and export to HTML. The save window appears, but the file is not created after selecting the location and pressing save. I checked on several disks...

If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync temporarily during troubleshooting.
This can be caused by a problem with the places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite databases in the Firefox profile folder.
- use "Verify Integrity" button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page
If errors are reported with "Verify Integrity", close and restart Firefox or reboot and retry.
If "Verify Integrity" cannot repair places.sqlite, rename/remove all places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from a recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
- keep a backup copy of places.sqlite in case a new places.sqlite database has to be created
You lose the history when a new places.sqlite is created.

Thanks, deleting the file favicons.sqlite solved the save problem from export to HTML. Now the file is being created. I removed problematic a bookmark from my phone that I couldn't remove and it also deleted from my PC. This is now the last question: is there any way to delete all bookmark records in the cloud and save the current bookmarks so that no old copy from any device in the future will download the old bookmarks again?
