Error message: Unable to save message as a draft.
Hi, I'm using TB 78.5.0 (32-Bit) on Windows 10 (64-Bit). TB is connected to my provider mail server by POP. I have a primary mail account there and a few alias mail addresses.
When creating a new message using the "from" as my primary mail address saving this message as a draft works fine, regardless I configure the drafts folder to my mailbox or a local folder. However when setting the "from" to one of my alias mail account (same provider, same primary mail account) I'm no longer able to save this message as a draft. The error message "Unable to save your message as a draft. Sending of the message failed." Just changing my account given in the sender field makes the difference. Further I do not have any issues sending mails regardles what sender account I use.
Starting TB with add-ons disabled didn't make an difference. Also searching the web ans especially the Mozilla sites did not help further. Any ideas what to check else?
Thanks and regards

Are the alias email addresses set up as mail accounts in their own right? Or Did you right click on primary account in Folder Pane and select 'Settings' Then click on 'Manage Identities' button and add the alias email address as alternative identity ? If yes, did you then select alternative identity and click on Edit, select 'Copies & Folders' tab and then set up Drafts to use 'Other' and choose 'Drafts on Local Folders'. Then click on OK.
then restart Thunderbird.
Thanks for your response Toad-Hall, You're right with your second assumption, these mail adresses are additional, alternative identities to my primary mail account. And also your suggestion to manage separate settings for this alternative identity regarding the drafts folder directing them to local folders I've already tested without success. The error remains the same in this case. Also restarting TB after such changes didn't help.
I have further mail addresses hosted by different ISPs and there saving drafts works also fine. They are configured as seperate accounts in TB. However they do not have alternative addresses.
