Keyboard Shortcuts
Two days ago I installed Thunderbird for the first time and so far I like it very much. Today I discovered that some functions on my keyboard are out of order. These problems include the inability to type the symbols on top of the number-keys and the PrtSc key ( which I use often). I'm a novice computer user so they may be additional problems. Could you please help me resolve these problems with my keyboard? As one with little knowledge of computers, I know that my problems would go away if I uninstall Thunderbird, which I love so far. Could you guide me gently (In simple terms) of how I can resolve, myself, any conflicts that Thunderbird keyboard shortcuts have with the actual use of the keys on my key board. I thank you in advance, since this support forum helped me a lot already, Dimitri

See if you have 'Sticky keys' etc switched on. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and the letter I (at the same time) to invoke the Settings window Or type 'Settings' into search and select 'Settings' app
Select: 'Ease of Access'. Select: 'Keyboard' (bottom of the left pane).
Then make sure the status of Sticky Keys, Toggle Keys and Filter Keys are all set to Off. If there is any one set to On, switch it to Off instead. Suggest you also switch off: 'Change how keyboard shortcuts work'
Note: I have the 'Print Screen shortcut' switched off, so when I press the key 'PrtScr' nothing appears to happen, but it has actually captured the screen image. If I open 'Paint' and use 'Ctrl+V' to paste, it works perfectly to paste screendump image. However, if you used to have it to auto open screen snipping tool, then you need to switch it on.
After making changes, I suggest you close all opened programs and restart the computer to force everything to take effect.
Then start Thunderbird, click on 'Write' and see if the changes have worked when you type.
