What happens to Previous Firefox Account Primary Email addresses?

I changed the primary email address for my Firefox Account by adding a secondary email, then making it primary.

I made the change 3 months ago, but I'm still getting emails (such as product tips) from firefox@email.mozilla.org at my Previous primary email.

I could unsubscribe the previous primary email, but I have more serious concerns:

  • I have not been receiving any emails from firefox@email.mozilla.org at my new primary email !
  • Is my previous primary email still associated with my Firefox Account sync data? If yes, for how long? Permanently? Same question for old secondary emails...
  • Does Mozilla have a policy like Google whereby previously used emails cannot be re-used?
  • I am hoping that any old primary and secondary emails would be dissociated from my Firefox Account, and Deleted from Mozilla's databases and records. If this is not what happens, why not?

Thanks

I would assume that you swap primary and secondary email addresses if you change the primary email address. Once this is done you can remove the no longer needed secondary email address. This should free up the previously used primary email address.

I just saw, under "See also", someone posted the problem "Firefox says a primary account is a secondary account" in Nov of last year. The conclusion of that posting is: a primary email that has been replaced with a new email is Not released for re-use. (If I presume to understand the discussion in GitHub correctly.)

Of course I am not one to know which is better for security/privacy: Never allow re-use of emails previously used with an FF account, or immediately dissociate those emails from an FF account.

I do not want old primary and secondary emails to be associated with my current FF account... for various reasons.

I wonder, if I Delete my current FF account, will all emails that are/were associated with that account be purged from Mozilla's databases and records? (I would create a new FF account and hope that my large set of FF sync data will sync properly.)
