When I click on a link from an email or document, Firefox opens but goes to my homepage and doesn't go to the link page. I've tried setting my home page to blank, changed the settings for opening a new tab or window, and the one for "switch to it immediately" but it doesn't seem to help. How do I fix this? Thanks, A PS I'm on Mac OS 10.15.7 Catalina with Firefox 117.0

I have the EXACT same problem. If I click a link from any other application (I tested Alfred, Bear, Pages, Evernote, and ran a command in Terminal to top it all off) is returned to my homepage.
The only way around this is if I open up Firefox first, then click the link in the other application. Defeats the purpose. Trying to find a fix. I'll keep you posted if I find one.

Could be about this longstanding bug on Mac when you open an external link when Firefox is not running.
