when managing an extension, you describe all the things it can do such as read anything on your computer. But you never say what the consequences might be, such as stealing or selling your info. Why don't you tell the reader what the consequences might be?

Firefox browser/Mozilla is not responsible for what extensions does beyond the listing on Adodn page that they work with the latest version. You need to verify what Extensions your referring to. If you use Extension you granted them access to track and send you notifications using them you agreed to their EULA.
