Updated FF version 3.5.10 to 3.6.6 The 3.6 series appear not compatible with my system. No probs whatsoever with 3.5.10. Symptoms:

1. Playing embedded WAV files (on my website) in the browser is not possible most of the time. - Config: - url: http://www.jjvanka.net/poemjj.html (audio starts only after hitting the reload)

2. Playing RM (ram) files from the Internet is impossible (browser 'hangs', looking for the file). However, Rams can be played by FF directly from the HD (off-line website). - Config: (also tried full url) - url: http://www.jjvanka.net/imag/liturgia.htm

3. Plugin-container.exe keeps hanging. I'll disable it, as was suggested elsewhere in the forum.

Hello JJVANKA,

it might be that the %%pluginname%% plugin is possibly outdated. Could you please check the following:

  1. Go to the Mozilla plugin check site
  2. Wait for the plugin check to complete.
  3. If any plugin is outdated, go to the Website of the plugin to download a recent version!

Try to disable VideoLAN plugin.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

Tobbi, cor-el Your suggestions were very helpful -- probs are solved. I updated the plugins and 'unplugged' the VLC. The main culprit was RealPlayer; installed the new version (although preferred the old one for its less 'loud' appearance). Thank you very much - JJ
