Why is a new window always being "pinned" to the right-side of the screen?

When using Firefox (v3.6.12) every time when a new "window" is opened it is always being "pinned" (positioned) to right-side of the screen. I can move it .. no problem. However, the next time a new window is opened it still is placed to the right-side. This is (for me anyway) a nuisance for than anything else. My preference is to have a new window (when opened) be on the left-side of the screen. Is there a way to correct this .. like making a configuration change ("about:config)? Thanks.
