Since upgrading to firefox 4.01 (win xp) picasa web album does not display correctly, nor can I view any albums or modify my own. If I open picasa in IE, it all works correctly. Help!?

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains (lh3.googleusercontent.com).

See:

  • Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
  • Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
  • Check the exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions
  • Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images)

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block images.

thanks cor-el, I didn't block images from any domains, so that wasn't it. It was the entire layout (html, css, etc.) that wasn't displaying correctly. I even cleared my cache and re-booted, but picasa web album was still not displaying or functioning correctly in firefox 4.01.

Seems however the firefox folks were silently on it because two days later it was all displaying correctly in 4.01...

Did you check for extensions that could be causing it?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

thanks, but maybe you didn't read my above reply -

"Seems however the firefox folks were silently on it because two days later it was all displaying correctly in 4.01... "

i.e. the problem has been solved. No need for wasting time in safe mode...

Sorry, I missed that last line in your post. Good to read that it is working properly now.
