Firefox prints email in landscape only, won't respond to properties button on printer dialog. Printer is set to default to portrait, but firefox apparently ignores this.
Explorer allows me to access printer properties so that I can verify landscape mode. Firefox does not respond to properties button and prints all email in landscape mode.

I think your last Page Setup setting is overriding changes to Printer properties.
If the print view window won't let you access File > Page Setup or File > Print Preview, then you can set the orientation in a regular window, then re-open the print view window.

Yes, that works. Thank you. However, the user should still be able to access printer properties when printing an email. I liked the old Firefox better and may revert. Meanwhile IE now seems better than the new Firefox.
Actually, if I change the orientation in my Printer Properties, it also changes Page Setup. So you're absolutely right that it should work. I'm not sure why yours stopped working. You could try the printer "reset" (first step) described in this article and see whether that helps:
