when I was first asked if I wanted to use the Master Password for a site (specifically www.facebook.com) I clicked "never" remember the password for this site. How can I use the Master Password for this site (or any site) now? Thank you

Chosen solution

  1. Click the Firefox button, go to Options | Options | Security.

  2. Click the "Exceptions" button and remove Facebook from the list.

The next time you go to Facebook and type in your password, you should get the option to add it to the Passwords list.

I want the master password to save a password for a site. The site is not in my list of exceptions, the master password window refuses to come up.

What do I do now?

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
