Firefox 4 took me to a screen I couldn't get out of, even when I rebooted my computer. I had to go back to firefox 3 which works just fine.
The first problem was that the whole screen changed from what I was familiar with. I couldn't find my bookmarks or anything else. I went to the tutorial and it got me to a page with no way out that I could find. Even when I rebooted my machine, it took me back to the same page. I had to go back to Firefox 3 to be able to access the internet with something other than IE. If I have to learn an entirely new browser, there is no reason to stay with Firefox which I have used for several years and like.

I know how bad you feel, but all the browsers now look alike. There is one browser though that is customizable and you know which one that is. I'm sure you would be happy with 4.0 or you can wait to Firefox 5.0, either way the same customizations can make them work for you.
You can make Firefox 4.0.1 look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)
