Firefox 5 on both Mac and PC. Had to send the Mac in for service yesterday, so I backed up my Library folder as usual. Setup a new profile on a Windows 7 machine, restored my .json bookmarks, no issues there. Copied key3.db, signons.sqlite, and formhistory.sqlite to the Windows profile and nothing came back. This used to work (at least up through FF 3.6 or so.) Is there some trick to get FF 5 to recognize (or import) the passwords, etc?

Chosen solution

That is the wrong location (used for the cache).

Use the location in Roaming that opens via the link on the Troubleshooting Information page.

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

That should work.

To which folder did you copy the files?

To C:\Users\uname\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\r!n!d.default\

Thanks! The \Roaming\ tree must be new to Win7.

You're welcome

Only if you used Windows XP before.
Windows Vista uses the same two location for the profile (Roaming; %AppData%) and Local (%LocalAppData%) for the cache.
