"Show my windows and tabs from last time" stopped working after a software update in late January or early February. Now on 12.0a2. Changing options "When Auora starts:" does not work anymore.

I have been using this feature for years and update Firefox/Aurora within a few days, maybe a week, of an update becoming available and all of a sudden "Show my windows and tabs from last time" stopped working. I can go to the Tools-Option-General tab and change "When Aurora starts:" to this option or "Show my home page(s)" and it now opens in a single new tab even though I have URLs there. This may mean that this bit is not being read properly. I don't play with about:config but I did look at some options talked about in the Web and all looked correct.

I would un-install and re-install it if one thinks this will solve the problem. I have updated Aurora again since this problem started and it remains broken. This is an XP system with SP3

PS: I have two other windows with one XP and the other Windows 7. When I had the problem on my primary XP system I stopped doing updates to the other systems. Today I updated both other systems with the latest Auora (skipping one or two updates) and both work fine.

How best for me to fix?

Hey punchcard4rjw,

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If it doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.

If that doesn't work you should look at the article How to fix preferences that won't save.

Hopefully this helps!

Well THANKS Matt_G..... I opened in safe mode and all my previously opened tabs, from when it last worked, displayed properly. I then started Aurora normally and it failed again so took your advice about disabling Add-ons and now all is working properly again. Not sure which Add-on it was because I disabled almost a of them since they really did nothing for me. I might go back tomorrow and try to find the one that did me in. Think that when you update Aurora it checks for new versions of Add-ons and that could also have gotten me.

Thanks again,

Rodger
