Cannot get plug-ins re-enabled after start in safe mode

Firefox slow in starting up so after reference to trouble shooting page, elected to start Firefox in safe mode thereby disabling add ons. Cannot re-enable add ons. (Going to Manage add ons page, clicking enable button does not work just produces disabled by the title of the add on) Each add on has name, eg Java (with disabled in brackets) and enable button.

You can try to exit the safe mode, start Firefox normally and check. Safe Mode
