My firefox has been crashing periodically at seemingly random times. It is not restricted to one particular site. Each time it crashes, I attempt to submit a crash report and it never goes through. The browser is up to date, and it still crashes in safe mode so I know it is not being caused by a plug-in or other add-on. Windows is also up to date. I checked for any updates to my graphic drivers and didn't find any. All of my antivirus software and such is fine.

Hi,

When in safe mode, please also try disabling all the plugins in Tools > Add-ons > Plugins.

Thank you for your help.

I disabled all of my plugins while in safe mode, and it still crashed after awhile.

If you are having a security software that has process and sub process control, you can try deleting all the old rules and let it refresh the rules for the updated Firefox. Please see this for an overview, though specific software may not be mentioned.

You can also try to find more info on the crashes by typing about:crashes in the location (address) bar and following the links. Crash Help

My security software isn't listed and I can't seem to find anything about firewalls in it. I am using ESET NOD32 Antivirus 5. I've had this same antivirus for a few years, and I've been using firefox for just as long, so I'm not sure what may have changed.

I have tried just about every suggestion on the crashes page, and followed the steps listed on the crash help page when I submitted this question. Is there more information I can provide that isn't listed on that page?

I'm really not that good with computers and programs, so I really appreciate your help.

You can also copy and paste some of the crash IDs here. Contributors and users here would definitely try to help.

These are the crash IDs that I have since this started around the 19th:

You can try a new profile and check. If it works okay, you can later copy the needed data from the old profile.

Firefox Profile Folder

Firefox Profile Files

You can also check the settings in ESET, especially the HIPS settings for anything related to Firefox and delete any adverse/block settings. Please see this. If the product allows it, try setting it to manual mode before starting Firefox, so you may get fresh messages and can permit accordingly.

I created a new profile, and thought that it had fixed it, but Firefox did end up crashing. I checked my antivirus and did not see anything in the HIPS settings related to Firefox, and I did not see anything about a manual mode.

I'm stuck. Here's what I would try next: Disable the antivirus completely for a few minutes/hours and use Firefox and check, preferably on another new profile. You can try the usual sites and email that would be generally safe and try not to follow any new suspicious links in web pages and also no downloading or opening files via Firefox etc.
