i use Firefox portable version 13. from time to time, it creates thousands of empty in cache folder. what causes this ? and how can i solve it?

Firefox portable shouldn't be using the disk cache and store data in it.
You can verify that via the about:cache page.

Are you sure that this is the Firefox disk cache and not the result of using specific plugins?
