every time I use yahoo to search a topic, or try to access a new page on yahoo's list of web sites I get an error message. WHY?
This happens every time: I will do a search on Yahoo and when I click on one of the pages listed I get a 404 'page not found' error message. This happens way too much - what is going on?

The reason may be because you are trying to connect to a web page that does not exist. The Error 404 "Page not found" is the error page displayed whenever someone asks for a page that’s simply not available on your site. The reason for this is that there may be a link on your site that was wrong or the page might have been recently removed from the site. As there is no web page to display, the web server sends a page that simply says "404 Page not found".
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
