i currently use a firefox 9 and if u upgrade it, my idm gets disabled. idm cc 7.3.29 get disabled as it says it is not compatible.

Yes, you do need to update to Firefox 21. Firefox 9 is no longer supported, and is vulnerable to dozens of security vulnerabilities. After you update to Firefox 21, you can check and see if any add-ons that are disabled have updates, which you can then install to make them compatible.
