Why does the "AccountDetails" window only give me Back, Finish, Cancel options when trying to create a Firefox Sync account and not allow me to complete set-up?

I'm trying to set up Firefox sync. I go to Tools>Set up sync. Box opens. I click 'Create a New Account'. I fill in my Account Details. The only options I'm given at the bottom of the box are 'Back', 'Finish', 'Cancel'. There is no 'Next' button. I click 'Finish' and the box disappears. Even when I try to click 'Sync Options' nothing happens.

Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

cor-el,

Thank you for the help. I followed your instructions and it worked in Safe Mode. I went through my Add-ons and disabled them one at a time until I found the culprit.

Additional question: If I set up Sync and run it for my desktop and laptop, then turn my add-on back on, will it continue to interfere? Or only when it tries to re-sync? I'm asking because I love the add-on that causing the trouble and will have a hard time letting it go. Thanks again for the help. DB
