when i type in my adress bar and press enter it opens to a page with chiness like write about 2 sentents worth. why is it doing this and how do i make it stop

it started a week ago. i will type say amazon. and press enter. and a bunch of chinesse like charter will show up. not as a web page. just about 2 sentence worth of charters on a white background as if you opened a new blank tab. and i have to use my search bar off to the right or type the exact address in the address bar or i get the wierd writing page. any help to fix this would be nice

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

You can also check the encoding and make sure that Unicode (UTF-8) is selected and not a 16 bit Unicode encoding.

  • Firefox > Web Developer > Character Encoding
  • View > Character Encoding

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
