Why does firefox homepage load when there is no connection ?
I am on a Wireless connection , sometimes , i have connection issues , i have my Homepage set as the default Firefox Homepage , even if there is no connection , the Homepage loads , but every other page gives me a no connection error , when the connection is working normally , any page i go to from the homepage loads as it should , so how can i get Firefox to NOT load the homepage when there is no connection , so i know right away that there is no connection , instead of finding out after it loads but nothing else i try to open will ??
If i use Google as my homepage for example , it will not load without a connection , and gives a error saying there is no connection , Firefox loads weather there is a connection or not , but nothing else will load from the internet since there is no connection , its annoying
My connections on the PC taskbar show a connection , but sometimes the modem is offline and needs to be reset , so there is no actual connection to the internet , but the Firefox Homepage always loads
Is there a way that i could not find in Options to set it not to load if there is no connection ??
Win XP SP1 , Firefox 27.0.1

The default Firefox home page about:home is a built-in XUL page as you can see by the page source (Ctrl+U).
So opening this page is very fast and doesn't require internet access.
