I want it to be google.com.ph because when i click on the search tools, I want to filter the results to Country: Philippines on most of my searches.

Thanks

You can add a search plugin specifically for the .ph site from this page:

http://mycroftproject.com/google-search-plugins.html

This article has the steps for making it your default: Search bar - add, change and manage search engines on Firefox.

If it doesn't work the way you like, you can edit it or create your own plugin. In that case, could you do a sample search and post the results URL? That will help in crafting a new search plugin.

It doesn't want me to install any plugin from your link and I think javascript is ON by default on our latest firefox which I have.

The page says:

Warning JavaScript must be enabled to install a search plugin.

If you have installed NoScript, you will need to allow this page to run scripts.

Some extensions (unintentionally) prevent search engines being added. Notably Organise Search Engines. Unity Desktop Integration appears to prevent Ubuntu users adding search plugins (further reports).

If you continue to have problems feel free to email (see footer) for further assistance.

The other link you posted doesn't teach how to make it to www.google.com.ph which is what I need.

It only tells it how to set it to www.google.com

Maybe the page isn't loading correctly. Could you try reloading in full, bypassing cached files, by using Ctrl+Shift+r? Any luck with the script?

If the scripts won't run, you can bypass them and get the plugins using this roundabout method.

(1) Depending on which plugin you want, select and copy the script (it's one long line; ignore the fact that the forum has created a link in there):

Google PH - kabuuang Web en-PH (google.com.ph) by Ramseize

window.external.AddSearchProvider("http://mycroftproject.com/installos.php/39333/google_ph.xml");

Google PH-en - Pages from Philippines en-PH (google.com.ph) by Varun Taneja

window.external.AddSearchProvider("http://mycroftproject.com/installos.php/44990/googlephen.xml");

Google PH-en - The web en-PH (google.com.ph) by Mycroft Project

window.external.AddSearchProvider("http://mycroftproject.com/installos.php/46607/googlephenweb.xml");

(2) On the search plugin list page, open the web console by pressing Ctrl+Shift+k. A new section should open at the bottom of the tab.

(3) Click in the blank line at the bottom, just to the right of the caret (>>). Paste the script and press Enter to run it. Firefox should display a confirmation pop-up dialog.

(4) If you want the new plugin to be your default search engine, check the box for that.

(5) Click Add. The search engine should appear at the end of the list.

Any luck?
