I have now installed and uninstalled Mozilla 3x in past month. I am using windows 8.1. After a space of 1 or 2 days, everything freezes and it will not respond. I couldn't even close the window and shut down the programme.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.


Here are two things I want you to try;

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?


If there are still issues;

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?
