Using Macbook Pro, OS 10.6.8. Yesterday after running a maintenance application I discovered that whenever I try to log in to my Google, including gmail, accounts Firefox crashes. I have the latest version of firefox and have even opened in safe mode. It still crashes. Everything else seems to work OK. I can open bookmarked pages and do google searches.

More on my question: I uninstalled everything that had to do with firefox. Did not help anything. I have since discovered that went I do a google search, some--only some--of the links make the application crash. Others load fine.

I do not have the slightest idea what FredMcD's reply means

That is what the crash report shows. One of the others needs to explain it as I do not use a Mac.

Do a check for corrupted and duplicate fonts and other font issues:

Cor-el, is there a test page for other systems?

Thanks for your help thus far...

I checked the fonts the report told me:

There are 69 "minor problems

One SERIOUS ERROR MT Extra > Mt Extra Plain 001.000 > 'name table structure'

Again, this problem is only with Firefox. Safari works fine.

Sorry, forgot to ask. Is it very likely the MT Extra Plain is causing the problem?

No more suggestions? I really would like help with this problem

I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.

More hints: I have now tried Chrome and Opera. They too will not work with google sign in and gmail. Seems only an old version of Safari is the only one that works.

As a test, disable your protection programs.

Do you have a crash report ID?

Did you fix all errors and warnings that Font book showed? Did you try to remove the font that gave an error?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

Check if there are any available updates for your Mac Operating System as well. That might help.
