After a Yahoo search. It don't go to the website in the list which I click on.

Using 50.0.2 with Windows 7. It worked OK in the past, but now it ignores me if I left click on a result in the list. I need to Right click and select "Open link in new tab." Which does appear above, but previously I did not need that extra step.

No, the problem goes away.

It could be the work of one of your add-ons. Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.

Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is, detective.

Try to clear the Yahoo cookies if you use the Yahoo search page. You can also try to hold the Ctrl key or middle-click the link to force opening in a new tab.

Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Clear the cache":

  • Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies"

No, the problem goes away. But I don't see my bookmarks when I start in safe mode. What you call the "Mac=Options" key is labeled "Start" on my Windows 7 version.

I am right -clicking on one of the results from a search on "search.yahoo.com". Center-clicking does the same. Preventing cookies on that website does not help.

Thanks for the solution. Turns out "ad block by adaware ", Lavasoft

Disable that extension, and all is well.
