This little problem drives me mad. I can't believe that no one has asked the same thing but I can't find it.

Just as it's possible in the cookies manager to start typing for domain which will bring up the cookies it's not the same with the exceptions.

Sometimes I need to find a site to change the settimg or delete it but have to resort to scrolling down a massive long list to try to find the site I'm looking for.

Is there an addon or something that will allow me to do this. If not perhaps this is stored in and editable file somewhere that I can edit?

Easiest to check permissions would be to open a page of that domain in a tab if you have a very long exceptions list. Then you can click the Control Center 'i' icon button where you can see the exceptions for this domain and possibly use More Information to open "Tools -> Page Info" and go to the Permissions tab.

I don't really understand. "control center i icon". No idea however, I although I didn't realise the page info gave this info - it'd be a real pain to enter each url into the browser. Thinking about all the various cookies that one site can give - think Ebay with it's 101 variations of addresses etc. It would be easier to just search manually for each one which is what I've been doing but it's one hell of a pain.

I just cannot understand why FF didn't think we'd want to search through that list yet they do provide it for the cookies. How painful would it be if that feature wasn't on the cookies manager?

How painful it IS that it's not on the exceptions - to be able to pull up everything with google in it for instance and correct or change them all in a second - even urls which you wouldn't know to put into a tab.

I'm currently looking at sqlite editors now as the whole mess is stored in permissions.sqlite and that's going to be the way to go for me.
