How do I mport email contacts from gmail in Thunderbird 52.2.1 (32-bit)

I tried to import my contacts but I got to a screen that said to use up and down to match the correct items in the left and right side but I was not able to move them as needed.

It's easier if you export contacts from Gmail as a vCard (vcf) file, then import to TB from Tools/Import...Address Books...vCard file... select contacts.vcf.

If you want to synchronize Gmail contacts with a TB address book:
