I am using Ubuntu 16.04. The operating system format is set correctly. I had to use the T-bird add on to get the date format to change in the T-bird in box, but it has not changed in the calendar.

Have you checked the options under Tools|Options|Calendar? If you are not using Windows, that's probably Edit|Preferences|Calendar.

The only two options are "long" and "short", and both are in the dd/mm/yr format.

I also want to switch to 12 hour time in calendar. All it seems to offer is 24 hour time, BUT in the mail in box it displays 12 hour time and the desired date format. The problems exist only in calendar.
