Whenever there is video content (youtube, facebook) it plays at first but at some point it can crash. At times the whole video plays and nothing happens. But during last couple days Firefox has crashed more time than I can count. It does not give any crash report either. It says first that Firefox has stopped working and then Windows closes it off.

I have tried uninstalling firefox, updated my drivers, restarted computer several times, tried basically everything I could find on this topic but nothing helps. Firefox still crashes on video content. If you need any further information, Id be happy to provide it.

My firefox version: 55.0.3 (64-bit) Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 15063) Acer Aspire V3-575G Graphics driver: Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 version 21.20.16.4534

Plugins: - OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc. 1.6 - Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc. 1.4.8.903 - Shokwave Flash 27.0 r0

Extensions: - Firefox PKCS11 loader 3.12.0 - LanguageTool - Grammar and Style Checker 1.0.13 - Token signing 0.0.23

This is not a cure, but should let the web page load without crashing.

Flash block {web link} Never be annoyed by a Flash animation again! Blocks Flash so it won't get in your way, but if you want to see it, just click on it

See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

Hello,

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).

To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

  1. Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
  2. Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
  3. Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
  4. Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.

The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
  5. Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
  6. Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
  7. Restart Firefox.

This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

Does this solve the problem? Let us know.
