Mozilla.org changes the about:home display once in a while. After a time it gets changed back. Check out about:blank

Your Firefox identified itself as the beta version of Firefox 57, which has a significantly changed toolbar area. Also, "Legacy" extensions no longer work, which could affect any extensions you use to customize the toolbar area.

If you prefer the current look, you can install the stable release of Firefox 55 from here:

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

It will update to Firefox 56 later this week or early next week.

Alternately, if you want assistance customizing the Firefox 57 layout, we may be able to help.

For example, you can use the Customize page to:

• Drag the Bookmarks Menu button to the toolbar (looks like a tray with a star on it)

This is more direct than the new "Library" button which looks like a little collection of books.

Firefox 57 comes with a three dot (...) "Page actions" button on the location bar that opens a special menu. This "Page actions" menu also allows to add/remove some icons to/from the left end of the location bar via the right-click context menu like the bookmarks star. The three bar menu has changed to the previously used format and now has text labels and can't be customized (it is grayed in customize mode). There is an overflow area on the Navigation Toolbar where you can place icons that you do not want on the Navigation Toolbar. You can place icons on the Navigation Toolbar and in the overflow area and move them via the right-click context menu or use customization mode. The location bar is surrounded by flexible spaces that you can remove via customize.

These are changes that come with the new Photon design.
